Designer Notes

Welcome to wiestlaw.com! We hope you enjoy your visit and return often.

If you've gotten this far, you should be able to tell that this site was not built upon a legal publisher's or marketing consultant's template. A purchaser of professional services buys the judgment, approach and philosophy of the people who will in fact provide those services. A small practice's web site should thus reflect the personality of the firs's principal (or principals). It seemed to me that this could best be accomplished by attempting (within the bounds of good design) to create a unique site instead of relying upon a standard format. We hope that you believe that this goal was achieved.

Content was first developed in the form of a prototype brochure created at the time I entered solo practice in the late 1990's. Pages were created with FrontPage 2002 (and its predecessors), but I relied on Laura Lemay's Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML and XHTML in 21 Days (Third Professional Ed. 2001) for coding tweaks. I'm using Blog Studio to maintain and archive the blog and what's new pages. Our domain is being hosted on simplenethosting.com. Thanks to Paul Gurwitz of Renaissance Research and Consulting, Michele Rosen and PH Wiest for helpful comments on a beta posted as a personal web page on ATT Worldnet. All errors of coding, content and approach, of course, are the proprietor's alone.
